Jimmy's Best of Friuli (Italy)
Wine school founder and chief taster Jimmy Smith travelled to the hills of North East Italy in search of wines of rarirty and of stories behind them. He knew that there would be delights to unearth but was not prepared for the variety and quality which was staggering. This tasting is a wonderful evening representing the fruits of his labour, showcasing some of the real movers and shakers in the region. Indigenous varieties such as (Tocai) Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Schioppettino are sublime, and traditional skin-macerated styles (orange/amber) are also found in little corners of the region. We'll visit regions such as the Carso, Collio and Collio Orientali.
In this tasting we will discover a host of superb wines (normally 8-10 wines on Jimmy's tastings!) with an additional aperitif (another Jimmy trait) with a fun and picture-filled presentation of Jimmy's travels to the region, with recommends on places to visit, stay, eat and of course drink. Do not miss this amazing evening that will push the vinous envelope for you!
