99% of our reviews on TripAdvisor are rated five-star: "Learnt so much! Did an intro evening class to wine tasting based on wines from the Loire. Even though I spent a year living in this region, I learned a lot more about the different vineyards and came away with a lot of handy tips for picking a wine I'd like. I'm not a huge white wine drinker but was pleasantly surprised with a couple. I've already put my knowledge to good use in the supermarket today - picking a wine I never normally would have based on what I learned last night, and I have to admit, it's pretty good. A great evening and have just booked another evening in a few months time" (farmersto, Feb 2017, via TripAdvisor)
Part One: New Zealand
Marlborough is a small region conquering the wine world by storm. The punchy and complex Sauvignon Blanc from here always delivers and has won the hearts of many a wine enthusiast. But the best kept secrets are their own expressions of (especially) Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. In this session we dive into these newcomers on the UK market in order to understand what makes New Zealand such an attractive proposition at the moment.
Part Two: Australia
Ample sunshine and favoured climatic conditions mean Australia can often produce quality on a regular basis. This consistency guarantee delivers assurance to many wine drinkers across the world and has been pivotal in Australia’s rise to international stardom. From the big, spicy and powerful Shiraz to the full and ripe Cabernet Sauvignons their reds offer great value for money whilst their whites, such as Chardonnay, are rich, ripe and rounded. But are these wines too hot to handle? Too intense and alcoholic or well-balanced? It’s time to investigate!
