World of Wine: Italy, Spain & Portugal
SORRY SOLD OUT Welcome to the Wonderful World of Wine tasting on Italy, Spain & Portugal. Time for some tasty traditional classics…
"Really enjoyable tasting. I now feel more confident to try different wines from the Mediterranean" (Justine, 6th April)
Part One – Italy
A country that defines food and wine matching with many exciting wines produced from the big three regions; Tuscany, Piedmont and Veneto. Barolo, Amarone and Chianti are just a few famous wine names you’ll discover from these classic regions. In addition we’ll investigate why the biggest phenomenon in the UK has been an Italian white, Pinot Grigio, and where this mass-produced wine has surfaced from.
Part Two – Spain & Portugal
Highly-acclaimed Rioja is great place to start in Spain, but there’s much more to Spain than that famous small northern region. Priorat, Ribero del Duero, Rias Baixas and Penedes amongst others offer both the traditional styles and modern wine styles. We’ll tap into some of the regions and discover a vibrant and colourful collection of wines including some of the big portly-styles and refreshing Vinho-Verdes from Portugal. Viva la Espana!
All tastings include; minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles.
