Part One – Italy
‘A country famed for its’ delicious food-versatile reds and refreshing whites’ – Jimmy
A country that defines food and wine matching with many exciting wines produced from the big three regions; Tuscany, Piedmont and Veneto. Barolo, Amarone and Chianti are just a few famous wine names you’ll discover from these classic regions. In addition we’ll investigate why the biggest phenomenon in the UK has been an Italian white, Pinot Grigio, and where this has surfaced from and what wonderful alternatives are to be discovered.
Part Two – Spain & Portugal
‘Rioja, Cava, Sherry and Port – the Iberian peninsula is a diverse and exciting area of the world of wine’ – Jimmy
Highly-acclaimed Rioja is great place to start in Spain, but there’s much more to Spain than that famous small northern region. Valencia, Ribero del Duero, Rias Baixas and Penedes amongst others offer both the traditional styles and modern wine styles. We’ll tap into some of the regions and discover a vibrant and colourful collection of wines including some of the big portly-styles from Portugal. Viva la Espana!
