Fine Wine: Ridge Monte Bello Magnum Vertical 2007-2012
Vertical tasting of the iconic Ridge Montebello from 2007 to 2012 - all out of magnum.
Join us for an evening of potentially the finest wines of California, Ridge Vineyards. Ridge makes wines that compete in terms of quality and desirability with Bordeaux First Growths and Grand Cru White Burgundies. Winemaker Paul Draper has crafted 43 vintages at Ridge and his practical, hands-off approach to winemaking has resulted in an exceptional and highly sought-after range of wines. In the famous "Judgement of Paris" tasting of 1976 Ridge Monte Bello 1971 was the fifth highest ranked wine, but the real headlines were grabbed when the 40th anniversary tasting was held in 2006 to re-taste these wines to see how they have held up. In this tasting Ridge Monte Bello 1971 claimed first place:

This firmly cemented Ridge Monte Bello as one of the finest wines in the world, with exceptional ability to age and mature into a complete and complex wine. Our tasting will celebrate this achievement, as we will enjoyably taste our way through six exceptional vintages from 2007 to 2012 all out of magnum. Magnums are widely accepted as the best size bottle to mature wine over longer periods of time due to the decreased exposure to the air. They are also just wonderful to open, serve and show off!
