World of Wine - Chile & Argentina

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Wine tasting on Chile & Argentina, focusing on affordable and high quality wines.

Part One – Chile

What makes Chile such an attractive ‘safe bet’ for a consumer? We’ll look at the facts, looking at the climate through to the diverse country that is Chile. White grape varieties such as the crisp Sauvignon Blanc, balanced Chardonnay and soft and smooth reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot rule the roost. Anywhere that hosts a ‘Casablanca’ must be good news, ‘here’s looking at you kid!’

Part Two – Argentina

‘They drink a lot of their own production in Argentina but what we can get our hands on is often ripe, fruity and once again exciting and value-for-money’ – Jimmy

Although production (6^th in the world) has been dropping, quality is rising. With a focus on the famed wine region Mendoza, Malbec has carved a reputation of high quality often notably higher than its’ French origins. But it doesn’t stop there; there’s plenty of Viognier, Torrontes and Shiraz to discover too, all the more for us to taste our way through.

All tastings include; minimum of 8 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles
