Introduction to Beer Tasting with Master Cicerone Rich Higgins
Join us for an evening of great beer and great company!
We are so thrilled to be hosting Rich Higgins, a Master Cicerone and brewmaster based in San Francisco, who will be leading this fun, educational beer tasting to share his tasting tips and highlight the flavours in a range of different beer styles.
What makes beer so delicious? What are all its flavours, and how do they interact? If you love beer, it's high time to notice what's going on in the glass and to describe it better than "it tastes like beer!". Learn all about beer, taste Rich's curated list of delicious beers, and ask one of the world's leading beer experts all your questions about ales and lagers, malt and hops, history and styles, and everything in between!
Rich Higgins is all things beer: brewmaster, beer travel operator, educator, trainer, public speaker, and a consultant to breweries and restaurants. He is one of 16 Master Cicerones in the world, and additionally is a Certified Sommelier. He runs Beer Immersion educational beer tourism trips to Belgium and Germany. Based in San Francisco, he has curated beer programs at a dozen San Francisco restaurants and has helped launch three craft breweries. In addition to working with restaurant, brewery, and distributor clients, he teaches beer and food education classes and Cicerone preparation courses, is a public speaker at and coordinator of events across the world, curates Beer of the Month Clubs, and runs corporate team-building seminars. Beyond his consultancy, he has spent ten years as a professional brewer and brewmaster, three years as the President of the San Francisco Brewers Guild, and three years as Event Director of SF Beer Week.
A selection of cheeses and charcuterie will also be available during the evening. A fun and informative tasting not to be missed!
